Overview
The Centre for Study and Research (CSR), Hyderabad, in association with the Indian Council on Islamic Perspective in Psychology (ICIPP), New Delhi, organised a two-day international conference titled “Islamic Psychology: Nature, Methods and Applications” on 25–26 November 2017 at the India Islamic Cultural Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
The conference brought together scholars, invited speakers, and researchers for discussions and paper presentations on various aspects of Islamic Psychology. The programme included an inaugural session, invited lectures, multiple paper-presentation sessions, parallel sessions, and a valedictory session.
The presentations addressed themes including Islamic approaches to mental health, Islamic psychotherapy, stress and coping, personality development, Qur’anic perspectives, Islamic practices, psychological well-being, relationships, leadership, religious commitment, conflict resolution, spirituality, and positive psychology. The programme also included discussions on Islamic psychological thought and the contributions of scholars such as Al-Balkhi, Al-Razi, Ibn Sina, and Imam Ghazali.
